[ he blinks - and then laughs? a little surprised. ]
I wasn't going to lecture you. If that was how it came off before, it wasn't my intention. [ was he lecturing? whoops. gu yun, as usual, attempts to help things that require a measure of emotional sensitivity, and then fails at it spectacularly
anyhow. he's paying attention to mineo's reactions beyond that, though, the messy, messy series of emotions. gu yun still seems perfectly neutral beyond that initial response, though.. .digging a little deeper, it seems a little more complicated. ] I was just curious - I know that you were feeling quite a way about this at the beginning of the week.
[ and it seems you still are now, but he doesn't say that. ]
[ . . . he still is, without question. he breathes in a little bit at that and - then out. it's hard for him. he's probably someone who actually overthinks a lot, despite the fact that his head appears empty most of the time.
what is justice anyway?]
.... I think I'm going to keep feeling a way. This place... really pushes me in terms of - all of that. I've dealt with murder cases before, I've even lost someone close to me...
But.... they normally don't happen this close together - it doesn't normally feel like so... much.
[it's overwhelming. he's still standing, stubbornly so, but it gives him so very much to think about]
I'm sure there's something about this place specifically that is meant to push us all to our limit. Things are on a schedule, of sorts - [ in a twisted way, anyway ] - but that doesn't necessarily mean there's time to get used to it.
[ if you're not used to it already, anyway; for gu yun, this place is just another war. he pauses for a moment, glancing at his full glass. mineo feels so loudly, even without the emotion share, and he's quieter and more receptive, seeming just thoughtful, though there's a melancholy tinge to the air. no room for feeling anything, in his life. ]
If we catch whoever killed Childe tomorrow, what will you do?
[ . . . . he shakes his head and - there's another fear. another ache. the worry about losing someone. at this point, mineo truly does like everyone left. the idea of voting at all means losing one more person.]
.... I don't vote much to begin with. I voted for the robot after it harassed Takeru, and I voted for Childe twice last week with a power because I was nervous Satoru was going to be set up to take the fall. [even now, the only times that mineo has voted has been out of protective measures]
I don't think... that's suddenly going to change.
[he doesn't think he'll suddenly crave blood in the slightest]
...I think a no vote won’t be impossible, this week. There is always the worry of a spite vote, but - we have nine hours to convince anyone who might be hesitant, by force or otherwise.
[ he takes a sip of his wine: emotionally, he just puts off a sense of determination. Resolve. ] That’s going to be my focus tomorrow, more than anything else. Let’s keep death off of the table.
