I will. I don't think she has any reason to lie to me.
The reason I checked Grace was because Misa admitted to seeing her, during the trial. That was what she whispered to me about. I wasn't going to make any decisions or accusations about anything without evidence - for which there wasn't any, so I was able to clear her.
[ to the last part, he just. closes his eyes. exhales through his nose. ] It's been a long week.
She was. I'm not surprised. I'm hoping to find out the details behind it later this evening - I don't know what the factor or motivation was.
[ . . . yeah. he's not happy about it, either.
but. ]
...You know, I think that sounds excellent. I've got the tolerance of an elephant, so don't go cutting me off too early, alright? [ a little lighter and more playful, much more typical. ] I'll behave myself.
anyway gu yun's completely unaware of that so! he's walking, hands behind his back, as straight and tall as ever. an unshakable mountain, it seems. ] What's your drink of choice, Mineo? I've seen you drunk before, but I confess, my tolerance was thrown by the effect that week, and I don't remember most of it.
Baiju, but rice wine is good, too. I'll drink anything.
[ his baby tastebuds aren't bothered nearly so much by booze! local professional alcoholic. ] That was how I recognized the liquor - I've been broadening my horizons here even further, ha.

One might still knock you off your feet! I like it strong.
[ he laughs, to that, and goes to move behind the bar itself. he squats down, out of sight, for a moment. (and mineo likely won't see, the way he carefully runs his fingers over the labels. feeling, feeling.)
eventually, he pops back up with the rice wine! not the baiju. ] You might recognize it. Harrow replaced most of them with a terrible hot sauce a few weeks ago, but they've restocked, since.
[ but he'll fetch a cup, then two, easily, pouring them both a drink. ] Here you are.
They're brutal, aren't they? What a punishment. I hope to never receive one.
[ he sounds a little pleased, definitely fond, too. harrow did threaten to crush his outside bones hand into bone powder but that was fine, that's like her way of saying she cares, so.
gu yun picks up his cup, and lifts it. ] At home, we'd say ganbei. Have anything to toast to?
To finally having the venom returned to my bite. Agreed.
[ HE MISSES BEING AN ASSHOLE
clink!!! he'll clink his cup against mineo's and take a fuckin sip, babes. rice wine's not so different than sake, so! light and smooth and delicious. ]
This has been a deplorable week, yes. It really has, hasn't it! Forced to be nice to people all week for no good reason. Angry for no good reason on Wednesday. This entire fiasco. What a week! Have I summoned all the crows in the universe around the base, at this rate?
[ gu yun quiets, for a moment, and then takes a long drink. ] Convicted by us. But, convicted by this place, I think, too.
...I went to talk to Greed, after, and mentioned my theory for her injury, along with a few other things. They said... rather, that the strange reaction that the screen had, and her injury alike, were both caused by this very place, itself. Apparently, it doesn't like it when people back out.
So, we caught an attempted murderer, and one that would've happened without interference. Therefore, it was good enough to trigger the 'guilty' response.
That seems to be the case. I trust Greed's word on this, as well; it would explain why the pod didn't help.
[ which, at least they learned new information about that, too! useful, useful. gu yun swirls his drink, thoughtful. ]
But, the misleading information this time wasn't caused by another participant, but rather, the place itself. [ a beat. ] The rest of the misleading was caused by your curses, the usual sort of distraction.
[ ...snrk. ] You've had quite the day, too, haven't you?
Mmn. [ he takes a moment to reach for the rice wine, and tops his own drink off, leaving the bottle out. ]
... Don't be so hard on yourself. You recovered very quickly, and rebounded to help as you always do. There's nothing we can do about being cursed. [ trust him. he. he knows. ] What you can do is recover and take it in stride. There's no controlling other people's actions or reactions.
Perhaps if you ask the Avatars, they can get you some way to block a curse for the sake of trials. I'm not sure if thats entirely possible, but its worth a shot.
.... no, I know my own flaws. I know that I was targeted for a reason. [because he's loud and dumb sometimes - but there's still something pinched in his expression.] I'm obviously more mad at whoever did that to me -
But I'm pissed at myself for not being able to watch it better.
... but thanks for trying to make me feel better, Gu-san.
week 4, post-trial
anyway mineo is just going to wander around after - that? after that. and he'll just pause when he sees gu yun]
... hey, Gu-san.
Are you going to see Amane-san?

respond at first? but, eventually, seems to actually shake it off and looks at mineo. ]
...Mm. I have some things I want to ask her, and I think she may tell me over others. Are you?
no subject
.... no - we don't have much of a relationship. I was just wondering if you'd share what she tells you.
[ . . . ]
It must be hard on you, too.

[ to the last part, he just. closes his eyes. exhales through his nose. ] It's been a long week.

So... it sounds like Amane-san was ready to implicate Grace-san anyway, to try to get her killed.
[and
he doesn't look happy about it.
. . . . ]
.... you wanna get something to drink? Not enough to be irresponsible but... I dunno. Take the edge off?
no subject
[ . . . yeah. he's not happy about it, either.
but. ]
...You know, I think that sounds excellent. I've got the tolerance of an elephant, so don't go cutting me off too early, alright? [ a little lighter and more playful, much more typical. ] I'll behave myself.
no subject
Then I'll find you tomorrow to talk about it.
[but. time to head for the common room then. the bar!!! mineo can talk about feelings instead of business pretty well]
Let's go.
no subject
no let's talk business
anyway gu yun's completely unaware of that so! he's walking, hands behind his back, as straight and tall as ever. an unshakable mountain, it seems. ] What's your drink of choice, Mineo? I've seen you drunk before, but I confess, my tolerance was thrown by the effect that week, and I don't remember most of it.

Sake. But that's probably just because it's what the bar served when my seniors would drag me out.
You?

[ his baby tastebuds aren't bothered nearly so much by booze! local professional alcoholic. ] That was how I recognized the liquor - I've been broadening my horizons here even further, ha.
no subject
[just more expensive to get shots of. but they'll make it to the bar]
Can you get your favorite? Let's both have some - uh, I'll have to stop at one.
[he's not showing up to execution hungover]

[ he laughs, to that, and goes to move behind the bar itself. he squats down, out of sight, for a moment. (and mineo likely won't see, the way he carefully runs his fingers over the labels. feeling, feeling.)

mineo's just going to snort at that - ] Ah, Harrow-san's revenge plots...
[though he just sounds fond. he'll take the cup and nod his head in gratitude]
Thanks.

he pauses, like he's taking this so seriously]
....
It's almost Monday and week-long curses will wear off?
[aND THEN NO MORE MOLWII CURSE PLAGUING GU YUN or any of mineo's friends being mean censored]

[happily]
... yeah. It's definitely been a rough week all around... but I feel like you got batted around a lot, Gu-san.
