Mm. Me either. [ gu yun draws his arrow back, listening to endorsi talk. ] Still, I was part of the reason Fukuda was there in the first place, so I didn't feel right leaving.
[ with another pshhh of steam, he lets the arrow fly. it lands in the center of the target, no sweat, because of course it does, and her question gets an approving hum. ]
Good memory. It's not my favorite - I prefer something more close ranged, usually. But, it's good to keep the skill sharp nonetheless! You never know when you'll need to shoot a tiger off of an unsuspecting citizen.
[is it..... either way, she lets that thread of conversation go, tilting her head as she watches.]
Well, we can all hope you won't have to do that here, at least. [...] If you prefer something close ranged, though, and you're ever interested in sparring, let me know!
Ha! The only cat around seems to be Gluttony's, so I think we'll be alright in that regard.
[ there's a beat, and he looks around them, for a moment. ] ...Well, we are in the Simulation Room. What's your preferred weapon, Endorsi? Perhaps we could spar for a bit.
I can do either, though, I imagine at your 'normal level of strength', even I wouldn't stand much of a chance against you. [ you people and your superpowers. ]
But swordplay sounds perfect. [ that's one of his favorites, actually! gu yun takes the longbow back to where he found it in his neat simulation, setting the arrows down and trotting over towards the console to make the appropriate adjustments. ] Do let me know what sort you like! If you're interested in weaponry, I'll show you a Wind Slasher in this place sometime.
[ listen he can keep up with someone who's like strong for a normal person! alas he's just a squishy human, though.
to her question, he hums, and fusses with the simulation panel a bit. eventually, a few weapons appear on the wall of the archery practice area - a few types of swords, and more curiously, two long iron poles, a little longer than the swords.
making his way back over, gu yun takes one of them off the wall and steps back a couple of feet. ]
A Wind Slasher is the standard weapon for the Black Iron Camp. They're powered by ziliujin, something of a natural resource. [ he'll wait for endorsi to pick one up, nodding if she takes it correctly, and then turns his wrist to show a sleek indent right where the hand goes. ] If you press this here...
[ there's a whoosh - a line of purple shoots up the side of the weapon like a filling vein, and three blades pop out of the sides. gu yun gives a flick of his wrist, demonstrating - they come out and lock into place, then go back. ]
And then press again. [ the same little button causes the weapon to hum and push out a burst of steam. then, with a turn of his wrist, and the blades start moving, in that terrible motion reminiscent of a meat grinder. ] Like so.
[She watches carefully as he demonstrates, holding the weapon he shows her and pressing as he instructs - and this time, she doesn't try to hide that she looks pretty interested.]
Ahh, I've never seen a weapon like this before... I wonder if I could make something like it back home. [Thoughtfully, to herself:] Hatz might faint if he saw it someday.
Mm, friend might not be the best word... Teammate, I guess! I don't mind using swords when hand to hand doesn't make sense, but he's the real swordsman.

Well, hand to hand, normally... But that's not as fun without my normal level of strength! So swordplay, I guess.

[please don't agree so easily to that
She tilts her head, though!]
Any kind of sword is fine. [But!] What's a Wind Slasher?

[ a beat. ] He's embarrassing around any sort of technology. I'm unbelievably glad he's not here.
[ god he's so glad what if he'd have to indulge with shen yi that's the WORST timeline ]

[She laughs, though, amused.]
Ha, show me the kind of face he would have made!
