[ well. nothing to start your day like the announcement of a dead body. it's mid afternoon when grace will find gu yun - despite the fact that he's at the bar, the drink in front of him is untouched, and he's tapping his fingers against his phone, seemingly lost in thought. there are also pink flower petals raining down from the ceiling over his head? i'm sure it's fine.

hearing someone else's footsteps catches his attention, though, and gu yun looks up. ]

Grace. Felt like you needed a drink after that, too?

[alteracion]

[ she's looking around, but she shakes her head at Gu Yun's question: ]

No, I've been looking for any sign of what happened. [ she huffs, a little ] Besides the very helpful morning announcement.

[liuli]

Mm. Here - come walk with me. I've been trying to test a theory, anyhow.

[ up he gets! i lied there's no petals from the ceiling but he is in fact just kind of covered in cherry blossom petals every now and then? he bats one off of his shoulder but otherwise ignores it, starting to walk towards the direction of the gym. ]

I think there are signs, but it's being hidden, and only a few people can see at a time. It's not much, but there's at least something.

[ reaching the door to the gym, gu yun doesn't bother trying to open it, instead pausing right in front of the door. ]

Listen. Do you hear anything?

week 1, monday

[alteracion]

[ gu yun is there when grace walks into the opium den, looking around in interest before turning to him ]

Are you here to indulge, then?

[ grace has no idea what these blocks are and will never admit it ]

[liuli]

[ the way grace says indulge makes gu yun grin. he's standing at the entrance of the den, mostly just looking around. ]

In this place? I don't think so. Not very prideful of me to be strung out into a dazed stupor.

[ he laughs. ] Are you here to [ eyebrow waggle ] indulge?

[alteracion]

[ oh good he let her know this is some sort of drug, excellent. ]

No. I don't know how much of this I'd have to hoard for it to be considered indulging in it. Maybe if I stop everyone else from using it?

[ it's a joke, though, and she goes to sit down as well ]

week 1, saturday

[alteracion]

[ grace is drinking tea in the tea room with a thousand yard stare when she sees gu yun ]

Hi.

[ he looks

so equally dead inside. ]

Please tell me nothing in there tastes like chocolate.

[alteracion]

It might, but it's labeled, at least.

[ unlike. everything else ]

week 2, monday

[alteracion]

[ whatcha got there grace? a smoothie

no really she has a smoothie and she's drinking it while browsing for other things on the vending machine when she spots gu yun ]

Hey. Looking for anything?

[liuli]

[ hello grace. gu yun, sans monocle today, walks with his hands behind his back as he's making his way towards the vending machine, too. ]

Mm. Not in particular - someone told me once to randomize each time and enjoy the surprise.

[ what a nice memshareless conversation ]

[alteracion]

Has it at least been a good surprise each time?

[ WHAT A GOOD FUN TIME it would be a shame if someone were to lean to see what gu yun is doing and trigger a memory where you talk about your childhood to a child and a gorilla. that would be bad.

grace is just making a face when it's over ]

w2 post trial. looks at that memshare looks at this week. laughs.

[ well!! someone's in a pissy mood after all of that. probably to be expected, i guess? gu yun's sitting against the wall outside of the medbay, picking cactus needles out of his numb hand - muttering a swear to himself every now and then because of it. ]

[alteracion]

[ well! she was seeking him out actually and so she stops down next to him, peering ]

If you can't get all of them out, try getting some cheap glue. It'll dry and then you can peel them off.

[liuli]

[ a beat - he glances up at grace, snapped out of his thoughts, a little surprised. ]

...thanks. [ mmn. ] I can't really feel it right now, anyway, so. It's giving me something to do.

Did you need something? [ he manages to pluck up another one, and makes a little 'tch' noise when he drops it. ]

week 3, friday

[alteracion]

[ we in the void now binches. or wherever you want gu yun to be either way grace is walking over to him. she looks a lot better now that she is not bleeding. ]

Find anything yet? I sure haven't.

[liuli]

Mm. Up in the observation room, on the top floor - it took me some effort to even open the door. When I was finally able to get it open, I heard the sound of something rolling across the floor, and the lights stayed dim.

[ he grimaces, a bit. ] Seems a likely place to start, I think.

You look much better than when I saw you last. [ that out of the way, he offers grace a grin, holding out his hands! is she wearing her gloves today... ] Those healing pods are such a useful invention, aren't they?

week 3, saturday

[alteracion]

[ The Void, the most common location ever known to man

anyway grace is brushing off confetti from herself because apparently getting it right means suffering too ]

That explained your hand massage, at least.

and yeah. he grins to that. ] Sorry. I know it was bizarre - but, it turned out well, didn't it? I only found out on Friday morning, but I offered to help Harrow look, so.

as someone who doesn't generally apologize, here he is! clasping his fist to his hand, and even bowing his head. very sincere!!!! ]

Grace. I am deeply apologetic for what has to have been an absolutely horrible feeling. I had to be sure.

[ she does not seem to be in a mood to accept the apology. hm. ]
