I think Sloth-san doesn't want to lie to me, but when they say 'I wanna help' and can't even let me conjure up a first aid kit no matter how many times I try -
What the hell am I supposed to think, huh? Where's my help?
I can't say I really know what their roles are in relationship to this place, but I have known what it's like to be locked into decisions by duty, whether one is against it or not.
[ there's no real embellishment to the statement, or anything - just a simple statement, a fact, and a far more serious gu yun. glances of one that mineo likely saw through the trial, through their earlier conversations.
how then do you deal with that? do you leave and pursue your own goals? do you take it over, and shape it in your own image instead, finding places where you can help? where you want to? that depends on the situation, and the person - and right now, they know so little about the avatars, its hard to glean their intentions. ]
Ultimately, we don't know what their end goals are, either. What we know of their jobs, at least, is that they are here to help is indulge. Not necessarily to help us survive.
... they said they're here to help and that was just - way too vague. [he sighs] They won't give us any medical supplies or anything either, so we have to start figuring that out if there's gonna be more violence coming.
[he's also a bit guilty of it, given how he was down to throw a punch at grell]
But now I just - I don't know. What's in it for them? What's the reason that they'd even offer to help us this much, when they don't care about anything else...?
[ gu yun glances away again, attention back up on that fog. he thinks back to his conversations with the avatars as the week went on, for a moment. ] According to what I have heard, they were brought here as much as we were, with their own requirements. They aren't expected to participate, but they're supposed to indulge, in their own ways.
Perhaps it is a form of rebellion, or perhaps being able to help the little they can is a form of indulging in its own right. [ gu yun shrugs. ] But as you said, we don't know what's in it for them, and we don't know their motivations, beyond some form of indulgence. They may have a stake in this 'pot' as well as we all do, and they will likely be protective of what those motivations are, whether influenced by an outside force or not.
You can't necessarily ask a fox for its skin. [ or an avatar for their hood, in this case. he isn't ready to rely on the avatars for more than their perceived agreements. not yet, not until more information comes to light. ]
...There are likely things that can be used as supplies in a pinch - there's enough access to natural ingredients that we'll make do. [ it's always make do, isn't it? in wartime, sometimes, there just isn't enough medicine to go around. in situations of strife, you do the best with what you have. ] And, we also don't know if another floor of this place will open tomorrow. Some answers may come in time.
... I just don't know if any of them are gonna matter.
[the rooms. the answers. he wants them too, but how do they wade through the bullshit to get to the important stuff?]
They made it hard to trust them, so what's even the point of talking to them? If their help is circumstantial, then what're they actually going to tell us and what's just stuff to distract us?
I guess we need information first and then we'll peruse through it but...
What a shitty way for fact and fiction to get murky.

[and he'll just... admit that.]
