[ fun fact: none of us in the dm can read so they had to change the effect because we're stupid
i mean. that's good to know, at least; that it was the same across the entire place. ] We thought it was some sort of safety mechanism.
[ and... apparently? they weren't wrong. ] And I thought the same. [ gu yun reaches up and plucks another petal off of himself. this time, when he flicks it into the air, it just vanishes. ] It was broken - the machine itself. We were in the middle of a simulation when it turned off, and showed us a square, with "99%". The square would fill up all the way to 99%, and then empty, and then repeat itself.
[ oh he HATES that. gu yun's already serious expression darkens a touch. ]
It's likely that the 'safety mechanism', if that's what it is, releases itself after everyone has been knocked unconscious. That's the only way to explain the number of locations that people have found things suspicious. Even if someone among my group were still awake, they would've been trapped otherwise.
[ and why go kill someone in a different room? that is what happened here, isn't it? ]
And, whatever was used to knock us unconscious was incredibly strong. [ because gu yun has a high tolerance to those sorts of things. that, and - he's a soldier. there's no way he would've slept through the simulation room being destroyed without some kind of interference. ] Whoever participated in this must have been awake from the start, like you said.

[he looks at the flower petals]
What do those have to do with the simulation room? You shouldn't be able to take anything out with you.

Right before you were knocked unconscious? Or for the full time when you were locked in?
Who else was there?

[ as far as he could tell. ] And then, in the morning, it was fine. It was myself, Childe, Medb and Gojou.

.... Shi-san said it's not working anymore though. At least, not for her. Think it might be like your treadmill thing, and the blood in the elevator.
But then that means the door unlocked after you all went to sleep, and someone broke it. Or one of you didn't get knocked out after all.

What specifically did you see in the elevator?
