[ lots to think about, indeed. gu yun's long since put those little traumas in a box on a shelf somewhere in the back of his head! ] ...I'm glad that you made it back, meimei. That, perhaps, is the most important - you don't have to give me the gory details of that.
There wasn't anything strange about them besides the obvious - their behaviors - right? Not in terms of appearance?
They looked just like them, except - there were... buttons on the backs of their necks. When we managed to press them, they stopped. [...she looks down] Some of them were more badly injured than others, but - for me, it was Ming-xiong. I wasn't able to hurt him very much before he stopped, he just... he looked dead.
[haha! fun.]
We had to go through the vents again, after that...
gu yun is like. criminally bad at comforting, but at least it's easier with a pretty lady - especially one like shi qingxuan. he scoots a bit closer to let her lean against his side if she'd like, careful of any injuries but offering the support if she needs it. ]
Mmn. [ thinking... ] Did you end up encountering the creature again in the vents...?
[good thing i apped from a lady windmaster canonpoint, then! she smiles faintly and leans against him.]
...not in the vents. We made it through without encountering it and ended up in a hallway with a door at the end of it. This one wasn't jammed shut, and it led into a room with a podium at the center of it.
We heard noises coming from the vents, though... so I threw something I found down to distract the creature and we ran for it. It burst out of the vents not too long after and followed us, and we ended up closing the door on it, but it... wasn't crushed by it. Unfortunately.
[she really hates that thing]
There were four handprints on the podium. We were supposed to recalibrate... something.
...no. We had to choose - yes, or no. And it... we felt so tired. Like it was an important choice, but we didn't have all of the information. Like... someone else could make the decision. Like, maybe we could go home...
[her voice trails off a bit.]
...we chose yes. We'd woken up with a list of tasks, after all, and... recalibrating "redacted" was one of them. It - the same thing that happened when I investigated the simulation room happened again, but this time, it was to all of us. We... changed. Our bodies changed, and... they were changes we've seen on the Avatars. It only lasted for a few moments... we went back to normal, after that.
[she bites her lip.]
That was when the creature got free of the door. It - came up to us, and it was purring, and... it opened its beak. Last time it did that, it attacked us, so I...
...I wonder if the experience that you went through is just what the Avatars have been through, all at once, instead of perhaps one singular Avatar's lived experience, as the others may have been before.
[ like maybe we could go home. he thinks of a painting, actually, hanging up on someone's wall. ]
...Meimei, the information is appreciated. You've earned your rest - you should take it.
I'm wondering that, myself. The similarities to the simulation room, and the fact that we were on a space station... [...] I don't know for certain, since I didn't see the footage myself, but I think the creature from the vents may be the same one that Yuri saw on the security footage.
In any case, it all seems connected to what's happened to them since coming here. I'll talk about it with the Avatars once I have the chance to - but I've been told to rest by them, too, so... I think that may be after this weekend is over.
...but I didn't want to keep it to myself. If any of you can figure out something by knowing what we went through, then I want you to know it all. The more of us who know, the higher the chances of us figuring out a way out of this... right?

[ he's a ye olde, but, at least he's not as ye olde as qingxuan. gu yun reaches back for his own neck, feeling around. ]
... That's where you had the injury when you went to the simulation room, too, wasn't it? The back of your neck.
[ hm. don't like that. and then..
.... wait. his hearing is really bad right now, but did he just hear: ] I'm sorry, did you say move?
no subject
There... were actually a lot of similarities between what I saw in the simulation room and what I saw today.
And - yes. They started to move. They - tried to kill us.
no subject
...mmn. It was like that in mine, too.

Were you returned back here, when you touched it?

My leg was still attached when I passed out from blood loss. I'm not sure what happened after that... the next thing I knew, I'd woken up in the pod.
