Suppose it's easiest to start simply, in that I killed Mahito. I was planning on confessing to it, had we not caught anyone else that night.

The simplest answer is that when I woke up on Thursday night, I went to fetch a weapon to defend myself, and when I came up the elevator, the doors opened to Mahito, who attacked me immediately.
The more complicated answer is that I knew he'd already killed someone - not Aoi, either, and that I'd heard a variety of concerning things from his mouth and from others. I had no plans of dying that night, blinded or otherwise. I also knew that I could take him in a fight.
Believe it or not, we spent some time talking about it, the night of, and agreed to take care of each other's business, depending on who survived.

The only thing I'm unsure of is which victim - either Vlad or Luca. One of the only ones with an evidence match, and one of the people who we didn't question about it - we were all so distracted by the last minute investigations and general chaos of that trial that we went off track. I also received information from a few others - but I won't share their names or their information, only that it was concerning. Mahito and I also had a few conversations in the weeks after that set off bells for me, and I felt assured in the fact that he was going to act again.

And besides, it is as I said - he attacked me. I knew the two of us would be well matched in a fight, and I wasn't wrong. Mahito is incredibly tenacious, and it could have gone either way.

Once it became clear I was going to win, He gave me a bump -- [ he imitates doing a fist bump ] and walked over to the room with me.
