Listen - he was obviously projecting his own feelings about the situation, but also, do you? I haven't asked about anything to do with that because I don't care to know about other people's affairs, but it is probably a little unkind that I haven't thought to.
[ wherever he is right now gu yun just stops and stares at the ceiling for like five minutes ]
If I tell you it's a kindness NOT to ask me about something like that then you should be able not to.
If you must know. I find it irritating if it was malicious, obnoxious if it was a prank. If it was malicious, at least they had a purpose, I suppose. If it was a prank, then it's a foolish one that could leave either of them in danger at worst and mortified at best. I rather enjoy pranks, too, but this was in poor taste. If I'm annoyed about anything, it's for Molly's sake. He
deserves better than that. Not White. The curse itself, in the first place.
We are agreed. I am furious. Being who I am, I can't help suspect malice. But even if it was meant in humour, it is cruel, and will hurt both of them in the end.
You may be pleased to know I've managed to do a little damage control.
I forbade them from seeing one another like I was the patriarch in a trashy novel and for some reason it worked.
Molly was some effort. It got ugly. I was forced to resort to the strategic deployment of "feelings." But he's listening. I have no explanation for White. I told him he isn't permitted to see Molly and he keeps texting me sad faces about it like it's out of his hands now.
[ you know how sometimes you just really need a good laugh. somewhere in the base gu yun is laughing so hard he's like, fallen off of his bed. goodbye. ]
That's genius. You're a genius! Ah, which one's the cowherd and which one's the weaver girl? I almost want to know what the 'strategic deployment of feelings' meant.
[ ... ]
It's so - it's odd. I saw Molly earlier today, away from him, and it was like nothing much was that different [ really didn't know how to deal with that. ] Aside from the occasional mention of being in love, I suppose.
[Honestly. She did kind of want to brag about this. It's very funny to her that it worked, too. But she'll actually answer seriously.]
I made it a requirement for the continuation of our relationship. And then I pointed out that issuing such an ultimatum to a person capable of making his own decisions would be excessively cruel, and yet I was doing it anyway even though the week's effect would prevent me from doing something I thought was cruel. I think it broke through a little, perhaps. He's sulking and they sneak away to see each other when they think I don't notice but it's an improvement. I don't intend to allow either of them to become hurt by this. I believe there is enormous potential for damage on both sides, so drastic measures were warranted.
I noticed that, too. Stupid. I was rather worried about it. I thought he was sure to betray any of my confidences. Part of why I suspected this was a malicious action - it has served as a very effective distraction from putting more plans in motion.
Very logical of you. I We had a talk about it too. I just told him that I wouldn't blow smoke up his ass about something if I was saying it, and - I don't know if it worked or anything, but he seemed to be better off after.
We're in agreement on all counts. And if you need any help, I'm happy to fill in until this is taken care of.
What I would really like to know is who else had Aphrodite's Arrow. I want to question that person. Will you put your mind towards resolving that with me?
Well. I'm a bit ahead of you on that one - I went through my notes earlier. In comparing the two times we asked, I found a few things. Do take them with a grain of salt, but I trust you will.
The powers listed were - 'oliver twist', blood boiling, a great deal of jealousy, the 'unholy hunger' of desire, temporary blindness, and aphrodite's arrow. Six powers, separated into groups of four. Admittedly, there could be another unknown power floating around - just to fill the math - but I wasn't aware of what Vlad or Steven had.
Let's assume that everyone told the truth. A poor assumption, but I'm not quibbling over those details right now. The people who didn't share their powers: Medb. Mahito. Sheila. Yuel. Grace. Eleanor. White. Meg.
Conveniently, there are six "slots" available of the powers we know, if we assume that each group of powers comes in four. 1 - Oliver Twist 2 - Jealousy 1 - Blindness 2 - Aphrodite
Which leaves 2 slots for our mystery power, which I would not be surprised is what cursed Aoi and meimei, if perhaps Vlad and Steven had the same one.
Eleanor mentioned this week that hers was a "harmless prank". So I think it was likely her, if the intent wasn't malicious.
[It's so nice to talk to someone who would also do this shit instead of having feelings.]
I spy no flaw in your work, and I agree with your assessment. Incidentally, I have reason to believe all of Unholy Hunger was telling the truth. So I think your assumption is correct - four to each power, and everyone who shared their power did so truthfully. I made the error at trial of suggesting the fourth claimant might be lying, but it likely had the positive effect of deterring anyone from making a false claim, knowing we were checking the numbers.
I will have a little chat with Eleanor. But I think it would be wise to track down what else we can, to identify who might have the mystery power. Sheila and Yuel will tell me if I ask. Grace likely will as well. White will be easy. Do you think Medb or Megara would tell you if you asked?
I do not think we should ask Mahito, even if you feel you have a good relationship with him.
Mn. Good, good. I think I can get it from Medb. Megara may be a bit harder, but I can probably find an angle.
...And I agree with you. Mahito is something of a wild card. There's... I don't know. I wouldn't be surprised if he's one of the people we haven't caught. Call it a hunch.
His handprints were a match for the hot tub prints. He had a lot of marks on him that week. I have also learned he is someone to be wary of, but that it is important that he not suspect anyone is wary of him. He is more dangerous when he feels threatened.
Don't give anyone cause to think you're plotting something or suspect them personally. Be careful.
Please! My feelings are hurt, remember? I'm simply far too distraught to do anything useful. Just let me know. I have no roommates, now, either, if there's somewhere safe needed to talk.
i never linked it like a FOOL im glad we had the same idea though
Because I car
Ca
Anyway.
I'm alright. Though, deeply considering taking a vow of silence for the week. [ he would fail at that so quickly. ]
You?

I may actually do that. It is not uncommon among my Order, and I find communicating via text much preferable.
This week is ridiculous in multiple respects. Mineo seemed to think you would find it upsetting - the curse on Mollymauk.
