[He frowns, leaning back on his elbows. This is just opening a thousand more doors without closing any at all.]
If it's true, they must have some way of tracking past events... those videos, I suppose. [Since the Avatars did state they knew what happened.] If they woke up to the body, how did the rooms get unlocked?
[And why knock all of them out, except for Beau and Tamaki? And what's the point of such a farce of a trial? Someone's idea of entertainment, no doubt, but is there more to it than that?
Ugh...]
I have business to discuss with some of the others, but I'm not sure they'll reveal much. [Honestly it's a little ridiculous how much he's already been trusted with, which is still basically nothing??] I'll see what Lust has to say about some of the rooms here, next time we meet.
[Like the fuckin Holding room or the ??? room, probably.
And Gu Yun might know this already, but Childe's voice is incredibly dry when he says--]
I was told Beauregard couldn't recall what happened between Thursday night and Friday morning because she "got too high".
They didn't know the rooms were going to lock us in, either. At least, according to the sources I talked to - same with us being knocked unconscious. It may have just been an automatic function of this place.
Pride mentioned "recalibration" - that's what happens each time, supposedly, including with damaged property or areas. It may explain the illusions, too, but neither of the Avatars I spoke with had any idea as to why it happens, or how.
[ it is a little ridiculous, isn't it? for gu yun, it's much of the same - part of why he's been checking information as carefully as possible, following the traces of sources and listening for places where stories don't match. he didn't become the marquis of order by being deaf to little whispers. (haha) ]
I wonder if perhaps they share information because they expect us to get distracted from it. [ like we have so far. gu yun says this rather idly, waving his hand. ]
As for Beauregard... well, I wouldn't put it past the truth, if my experiences earlier in the week are anything to be believed. Pride said something interesting to me, too, though - the results of the votes are, according to them, one of the only things in this place that can always be trusted.
[I keep thinking about how we have daddy kink jokes directly preceding plot chatting and this is supposed to be a bang thread. I'm so tired of these fools.]
Mm... and Greed mentioned that they believed it was a result of someone choosing to indulge in that way.
["That way" being murder. But Harrow had asked "What if I wish to indulge by not being killed?" and had gotten no true response, so.
He huffs out something a laugh at that.]
If that's true, they've sorely underestimated us. [Though, admittedly, more of their number seem like they would be distracted than he'd initially assumed. God. This place really isn't what he'd been looking forward to.] I have something of a theory about our hosts, but I don't have a strong basis for it yet. [He waves a hand.] If it seems to hold water, I'll share it with you later.
very dryly: ] I don't think murdering someone and framing someone else for it is my particular choice of indulgence, but, we can't always predict the wants of others.
[ this is gu yun for "i'm kinkshaming", but also: if he was going to stab someone, he probably wouldn't frame someone innocent for it. that's just gauche. stab someone to the front and get away with it like a normal person.
i mean. anyway. the theory concept gets him to give a nod, as he settles back on the bed, stretching a bit and making himself comfortable. ] Do so. [ he's curious, but... at this point he trusts childe to gather information and report on it when its pertinent, so. trust and respect, somehow; they just seem to be on the same wavelength. it's more useful to file away for later. ]
For now, let's continue to gather information, and play along. [ so much time biding. ]
[Childe don't be bitter you literally released Osial.
BUT ANYWAY. Speaking of playing along, he drags himself up, moving over to settle on top of Gu Yun with movements that are, once again, marginally more restrained than normal. Maybe he should practice archery like this, when he's 0.3% less likely to yeet himself around like a pinball in a machine. He's already turned his attention to that scar, though there's still a distracted look on his face as he traces it with his nails.]
How long do you think it will take someone to else to make a move?
[He's a little surprised they haven't already, honestly. Then again, Molly's heart seems softer than he expected, so who knows.]
