Oh, certainly. Each footstep towards knowing this place feels quite small, when our weeks end with bodies and unsolved mysteries. [ there's a little dryness to that statement, but, it is the truth. ] Truthfully, we don't even know how long we'll be here, short of "when you've indulged enough", particularly when there's no metric of what that even looks like. Imagine that it was just until our numbers dwindled down to a number considered plausible for 'granting desires'.
[ that certainly seems to be what's being implied, anyway, as the weeks continue to move on. ]
But you're correct - they don't. I have reason to believe that my own was based off of someone's memories.
I've asked Pride a few times if there have been any changes in the threshold or the information to help us better understand what's going on here but haven't been met with much of anything.
[ he sighs and looks down at the table. is this better than mourning? definitely because it's "productive". ]
Do you think that what might be happening? A larger than necessary amount of people arrived here and only those who remain will get their wish granted? [ now there's a spin he hadn't quite gotten to. ] ...and if those are memories of someone—who?
Well, we have that in common. [ PRIDE IS SO UNHELPFUL!!! THEIR TSUNTSUN!!! it's fine, gu yun's very fond of pride even if they're Like That, and completely useless in terms of digging out information and trying to understand this place. he has other sources. ]
I think so, sure. It's not a complete theory, but it makes sense, based on what we've been told. How many of us here would kill for no reason? [ certainly some of them, but enough to have as many bodies as they've had recently...? who knows. ]
The memories were White's. He didn't have any knowledge that we were experiencing them, though.
[ law is also fond of pride and pride gives law plenty of Rights but sometimes that still isn't enough. ]
But do you think White's memories being projected in such a way was aligned with what is happening to everyone? [ he squints. ] Only just on a wider and more deadly scale.
[ does that mean things in the future might end up that way? no, that wouldn't make any kind of sense with the first excursion to come back. ...but it was a gluttonous memory, wasn't it? or. ""memory"".]
And I'm not paranoid enough to think that there are people here who would kill without reason—the robot aside.
